As a child, I was always doodling figures and trees. In first grade, my teacher assigned me to do the Memorial Day artwork all in different colored chalk! As a child, I was always doodling figures and trees. In first grade, my teacher assigned me to do the Memorial Day artwork all in different colored chalk! I was the kid who did the library posters of which the librarian once asked me to do two giant playing cards of the King and Queen! Fast forward and after years in the corporate world of training and education, I am back fulltime to my passion in painting. Talk about full-circle!
My choice of medium is "it all depends." Subject, composition, palette guide me to the best fit medium. Artists like to explore, so for the most part, I work with oils, watercolors and acrylics. I paint primarily on linen, hardboards, canvas. Lately, I have been painting small still lifes on 6x8 however, love the feel of spreading paint on large canvases.
I enjoy exploring different types of terrains in the Midwest and on the Pacific Coast. Figure drawing has been a passion, too. I've been inspired by many artists. One day, I picked up a book by Richard Schmid and Plein Air had the immediacy I love to work in, so I've been hooked. Again, I came across the Plein Air Art magazine and foun
